2.  On the left side you will see the “Clusters” button while on the top right corner you will see the switch button, **please choose the needed blockchain** \[On this V1 release you can switch between Polygon and Ethereum mainnet\].

3\. To be able to stake Clusters on the platform, you need to stake your DHV. In order to do so, please proceed to the **“Staking”** section. Press the “STAKE” button and enter the desired amount of DHV.

4\. As soon as you switch the blockchains, you will see the list of Clusters available for each. In order to get the Cluster, please press “JOIN CLUSTER”.

5\. The app will ask you to enter the desired amount you want to put into Cluster. Write it down and then press the “Join Cluster” button again and wait for the transaction approval.

6\. In order to check your Clusters, go to the “**Portfolio”** section which you can find on the left side (under the “Clusters” button). In the portfolio you can see your DHV token balance, your total amount of holdings and all clusters you have acquired. Here you can also stake the Clusters you already have.

7\. In order **to stake the cluster and start getting yield**, please press the “STAKE” button. \[The app will ask you to put in the supportive amount of DHV (3%). Please make sure you have DHV staked on the platform.\]

8\. All the staked Cluster goes to the **“Staking”** section on the left side under the “Portfolio” section. You can also check/claim the rewards from stake here and see the amount of locked funds.

# What is a blockchain oracle?

A blockchain oracle is a trusted source of data external to the blockchain. In most cases, it doesn’t generate any data itself but transmits it from other sources such as cloud providers, payment systems, marketplaces, and even other blockchains.

# Why is it necessary?

The thing is that each blockchain network is a pretty isolated system, which might be a significant bottleneck in the world of decentralized finance. Blockchains cannot collect data from external sources on their own and stay secure at the same time. For this reason, they have recourse to third parties that provide communication with the outside world.

To make it more clear, let’s take a look at an example.

Imagine you want to buy some ETH with USDT. The task is pretty simple, right? All you need to do is log in to your favorite exchange, find a necessary pair, and place an order. Yet, it is not so simple from the technological point of view.

Since smart contracts of the exchanges you use don’t know exactly the current rate of listed tokens, they constantly acquire this information through an oracle. This way, an oracle works as a reliable data transmitter that ensures the correct work of the whole system.

To break it down even further, if it weren’t for blockchain oracles, buying and selling cryptocurrency would be as problematic as posting a photo on Instagram with no internet connection. And it’s not only about crypto exchanges – no DeFi tool would work correctly without the help of an oracle.

# How do blockchain oracles work?

Now that you know what blockchain oracles are and why we need them in the first place, let’s figure out how they work.

Being connected to a particular blockchain by API, oracles collect necessary external data from chosen sources and validate it. Then, they reformat this data so that the blockchain can read it. Eventually, they transmit the data, and the network executes a smart contract.

Depending on the type of the blockchain oracle, its principle of work may differ.

Centralized oracles request data from one external source that ideally has to be tamper-proof and provide a high level of security. In fact, such oracles might be less reliable and present a single point of failure. If the attackers get access to the central entity, they could broadcast malicious data to the network.

On the other hand, decentralized oracles are aimed to overcome this problem. They acquire data from multiple sources, thus, verifying it in a peer-to-peer manner and ensuring its accuracy and security.

To sum up, all blockchain oracles work in the same way by collecting data from external sources and transmitting it to a blockchain network. Yet, the number of sources and the level of security depend on the type of oracle.

# Which oracle will DeHive use?

There are many worthy blockchain oracles in the market, but for now, we’ve made up our minds. Similar to the [recently launched beta](https://medium.com/dehive/dev-update-5-717b3b3a1e1), in the DeHive V1, we are going to use the ETH-CORE Uniswap oracle.

Uniswap oracle will [provide](https://docs.uniswap.org/protocol/concepts/V3-overview/oracle) DeHive with access to price history and liquidity data. Storing historical data will help reduce integration costs and the possibility of logical errors on the calling contract. Meanwhile, the liquidity accumulator will keep information about the available in-range liquidity at the given moment of time.

Besides, we have already [integrated 1inch technology](https://medium.com/dehive/dehive-will-integrate-1inch-7a2927b223ca) into the DeHive protocol, which will also help us track the best token prices at the most beneficial conditions. We believe that such a collaboration will help the DeHive cluster prosper and take one of the leading positions in our niche.

DeHive and Blockchain Oracles: What to expect?

# **Development achievements**

✅The first and main — **successful Beta launch**. We have tested the application, its interaction with smart-contracts, checked all places to improve;

✅The initial version of the cluster contract was successfully tested and **deployed on the Ethereum network** — so we have **Eth-Core cluster**;

✅The first iteration of the contracts set was sent to the external auditors to ensure their safety far before the release;

✅The front-end team has added Polygon (Matic) support to the application;

✅The front-end team actively works on the improvement of the app architecture.

All features go to testing and internal auditing to ensure the secure work of the protocol.

# **In progress**

The beta release gave us a lot of fresh thoughts and showed several places which can be improved. Also, we have analyzed all the feedback, so our backlog has expanded.

🔷Since the app has complete Polygon support, we have concentrated our work on the [**Polygon cluster**](https://medium.com/dehive/dehive-launches-new-polycluster-901363332914) **finalization**. It has already been announced so we are working on the better routes for the underlyings;

🔷Cluster contract V2 is coming. Beta testing has shown us some points to improve, so as first feedback from auditors. Thus our Solidity team is improving the security of the contracts;

🔷**Yield farming strategies** are under development and active testing — we want to bring not only the value of the index but the profit from strategies as well. These two components make the cluster a great financial instrument;

🔷The team works on **additional staking options**, so the release will contain several earning options;

🔷Our DeFi experts work on several new defi tools to expand cluster functionality and break its limits.

All work is dedicated to fulfill the roadmap and complete the live V1release.

❇️Based on the results of Beta testing and feedback, we perform another round of UI improvement;
